PROFILE
For many years, our research team contributed to the development of phytopathology, plant protection, population microbiology, environmental microbiology, industrial microbiology, bacterial genetics or genomics fields, which finds reflection in numerous scientific publications and patents.
We offer analyzes tailored to the needs of business, research institutes or universities We especially recommend our expertises and services for subjects in need of a specialized laboratory facilities, knowledge and experience of a trained academic and scientific staff or development, verification or validation of any methods. We work in accordance with the quality management system according to ISO 17025 standards.
Diagnostic services:
- Detection and to-genera or to-species identification of bacteria present in plant material, soil or propagated on culture media. We use molecular, immunological and biochemical methods for this purpose
- Analyses of genetic biodiversity within a species (e.g. with the use of multiplex PCR, RAPD, PCR-RFLP)
- Phylogenetic analyses based on the sequences of house-keeping genes (recA, gyrA, rpoS, dnaX etc)
- Personalized diagnostic tests tailored to the costumer’s needs
Analytic services:
- Assessment of effecy of sterilization methods
- Drug susceptibility testing
- Qualitative and quantitative analyses based on GC-MS
- Validation of the research methods
- Isolation of nucleic acids from bacteria; also phytopathogenic bacteria and quarantine microorganisms. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of purified DNA and diagnostics of this material
Didactic services:
- Practical training in the field of diagnostics, analytical techniques and good laboratory practice
- Theoretical courses in biotechnology, microbiology, phytopathology, molecular diagnostics etc.
- Courses on good laboratory practice according to the requirements of quality menagment system under ISO 17025 norm
- Assistance in statistical analysis of data, data visualization or preparation of manuscripts for scientific publications in high-impact journals

CERTIFICATIONS
We work in accordance with the quality management system. The Research & Development Laboratory of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk was the first one at the University of Gdańsk to obtain a certificate confirming implementation of the quality management system according to PN-EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 + Ap1: 2007. Implementation of the above-mentioned system confirms high competence of the Laboratory regarding conducted analyses, measurements and calibrations. Finantial support was obtained from the MOBI4Health project from the European Union funds EU FP7 (FP7-REGPOT-2012-2013-1)
