at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdansk and Medical University of Gdansk

 

We are looking for Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join the Structural Biology Laboratory led by Michal R. Szymanski at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdansk and Medical University of Gdansk (IFB UG & MUG), Gdansk, Poland. Postdoctoral Researcher will join our “MitoRepairosome” ERC project to investigate human mitochondrial DNA repair pathway (https://erc.europa.eu/news-events/magazine/erc-starting-grant-2019-examples).

The ideal candidate will:

1.      Hold a PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields, obtained not earlier than 2015
2.      Have documented experience in at least one of the following: Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry
3.      Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English 
4.      Show a good level of independence, self-motivation and reliability

Responsibilities:

Overexpression and purification of DNA repair enzymes. Biochemical and biophysical characterization. Protein crystallization and structure determination by X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.

Conditions of employment:
Duration of contract: Full-time, 3-5 years
Salary: ~6 000 PLN net / month
Deadline for submitting documents: January 31, 2021
Starting date: February 1st, 2021 (negotiable)
