Announcement regarding the call for proposals for the UGrants-START competition

The Dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology announces a call for applications for the UGrants – START competition for funding for research projects by doctoral students of the Intercollegiate Doctoral School of Biotechnology at the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk.

The aim of the competition is to support doctoral students conducting scientific and research work, in particular in terms of increasing the number of publications in prestigious journals. Funding of up to PLN 15,000 is available for research carried out as part of the competition. The condition for completion of the project is the submission of a manuscript to the editorial office of a scientific journal from the current list of the minister responsible for science, which has obtained a minimum of 100 points in this list or is indexed in the Scopus or Web of Science database in the first quartile.

Deadline for applications: December 15, 2025.

The results of the competition will be announced by January 16, 2026.
