Rector's Day excluding IFB

At the request of the Student Parliament UG
Rector prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski
declares April 6 (Thursday) to be Rector's Day
free from classes

excluding the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and MUG
due to the joint organisation of classes at this Faculty
with the Medical University of Gdańsk
(IFB students will have the day off from classes
at another date in May this year).

Dr Rafal Sadej - member of European Network of Breast Development and Cancer

Dr Rafal Sadej has become a committee member of European Network of Breast Development and Cancer. The ENBDC started in 2006 as a means of bringing together worlwide laboratories working on breast development and cancer. The idea was to raise awareness of each other’s research in order to foster contact, encourage technical exchange and collaboration, especially across disciplines, as well as to offer intellectual and information resources to the breast cancer research community as a whole.

 

Prof. Ewa Łojkowska again Vice-Chairwoman in Committee of Biotechnology

We are proud to inform that Prof. Ewa Łojkowska from IFB has been re-elected for the term 2015-2018 as Vice-Chairwoman of the  Committee of Biotechnology at the Division of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Chairman of the Committee is Prof. Tomasz Twardowski (Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences), other Vice-Chairmen are Prof. Jerzy Długoński (University of Łódź) and Prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn (University of Gdańsk).

STARBIOS 2 – first H2020 project for IFB UG&MUG

We are proud to announce that our project STARBIOS 2 Structural Transformation to Attain  Responsible BIOSciences submitted to the programme Horizon 2020 has been positively evaluated and is currently in contract preparation phase.

Within STARBIOS 2, the University of Gdańsk together with 11 partners from Europe, USA and Brazil will work on the concept of responsible research and innovation (RRI) in biosciences.
