New accreditation for the IFB UG and MUG Research and Implementation Laboratory
The Research and Implementation Laboratory of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and MUG, headed by prof. dr hab. Ewa Łojkowska, was granted extended accreditation by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) on January 19, 2024.
Patent for scientists from the Recombinant Vaccines Unit
The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland issued a decision to grant a patent for the invention called Recombinant Virus-Like Particle of Tick-Borne Encephalitis and Its Medical Application. The inventors are: dr hab. Ewelina Król, prof. UG, mgr Marta Zimna, dr Gabriela Brzuska, prof. dr hab. Bogusław Szewczyk and mgr Sara Boch-Kminikowska.
Patent for the IFB's Department of Plant Protection and Biotechnology
Destroying bacteria using plasma and thus protecting cultivated and ornamental plants from disease is the main task of the invention entitled 'Method of deactivating antibiotics in aqueous solutions', developed by scientists from the University of Gdańsk and the Wrocław University of Technology. The Polish Patent Office has just issued a decision to grant a patent for the invention.
