Nomination of dr hab. n. med. Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak to join AcademiaNet

Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak, MD, PhD, DSc, professor at the University of Gdańsk and the head of the Laboratory of Experimental and Translational Immunology was distinguished by the nomination of the Foundation for Polish Science for AcademiaNet.

AcademiaNet is a global community and database of experts, women in science with outstanding achievements in the field they represent. Joining AcademiaNet is possible only through an external nomination of one of the 43 selected partners of this institution, and the selection criterion is scientific excellence and maturity (https://www.academia-net.org/selection-criteria). The experts are leaders and recognized scientists who pursue their career path in an extraordinary way. Professor Gutowska-Owsiak is the third researcher from Gdańsk nominated for AcademiaNet, after prof. Ewa Łojkowska (IFB) and prof. Lipińska (Faculty of Biology).

AcademiaNet was established in 2010 as an initiative of the German Robert Bosch Foundation, its role is to help identify female scientists with prestigious achievements as speakers, members of committees and advisory bodies, and project partners. The database is run by the Swiss National Science Foundation and its partner is the Nature Publishing Group.
