The new EU-funded COST Action PanEuCOPT (approx. €600,000) brings together scientists from various fields, including researchers from the Department of Photobiology and Molecular Diagnostics, to develop unified standards and guidelines for Photodynamic Inactivation (PDI) — a light-based technology to fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The four-year project aims to prepare PDI for clinical trials and regulatory approval. The inaugural meeting took place on October 9th in Brussels, chaired by Bianka Siewert from the University of Hamburg.
