Contest for a PostDoc position in the Structural Biology Group
at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology
of the University of Gdansk and Medical University of Gdansk
The ideal candidate should:
1. Hold a PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields, obtained not earlier than in 2017
2. Have a strong expertise in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural biology. Experience in working with DNA and RNA will be an asset
3. Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
4. Show a good level of independence, self-motivation and reliability
Responsibilities:
Overexpression and purification of different DNA repair enzymes. Biochemical and biophysical characterization. Protein crystallization and structure determination by X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
Additional information:
The Structural Biology Group is focused on structural, functional and mechanistic studies of the nucleoprotein complexes involved in the basic processes of DNA replication and repair. We investigate a number of systems in viral, bacterial, and human cells to understand the assembly of macromolecular complexes and use this knowledge in possible therapeutic strategies.

Conditions of employment:
Duration of contract: Full-time 18 months (POLONEZ – NZ)
Salary: 6300 PLN / month brutto brutto
